Graduate Assistant
One half-time (20 hours per week) position open
We are interested in individuals with strong computer fundamentals and skills in: computer architecture; operating systems (UNIX/LINUX); programming in Fortran, C, C++. Most importantly, we are interested in individuals with good analytical and quantitative skills. All individuals who have successfully completed compiler courses (undergraduate or graduate) are most welcome to apply. Web development skills are most welcome.
The work you will do includes:
- Help-Desk Duty and direct one-on-one user assistance
- Code optimization, parallelization (both MPI and OpenMP), and performance analysis of user codes. If you do not currently know MPI or OpenMP, you will be asked to gradually learn them.
- All manner of UNIX and batch system (LSF & PBS) script writing & debugging
- Web development
- Batch system monitoring
- Participation in all current projects is welcome
