dplace: Placement File

• The file must include:

  • the number of memories being used and their topology:
    • memories M in topology [none|cube|cluster|physical near]
  • number of threads
    • threads N
  • assignment of threads to memories:
    • run thread n on memory m [using cpu k]
    • distribute threads [t0:t1:[:dt]] across memories [m0:m1[:dm]] [block [m]] | [cyclic [k]]
  • optional specifications for policy:
    • policy stack|data|text pagesize N [k|K]
    • policy migration n [%]
    • mode verbose [on|off|toggle]

• Example:

memories ($OMP_NUM_THREADS+1)/2 in topology cube

threads $OMP_NUM_THREADS

distribute threads across memories
