When: 1:30-3:30pm, Monday, November 7, 2016
Where: Student Computing Center (SCC), Room 4.210F
In this session, we will demonstrate simple ways you can improve and optimize your serial code to boost execution speed by orders of magnitude. We will also address common pitfalls in writing MATLAB code, and explore the use of the MATLAB Profiler to find bottlenecks. Demonstrations will show you how to apply these techniques to problems that arise in typical applications.
- Understand memory usage and vectorization in MATLAB
- Address bottlenecks in your programs
- Efficient indexing and manipulations
- Utilizing additional processing power
