Reminder: Hydra:/scratch is NOT being Backed Up

Dear Hydra users,

this is a reminder that Hydra:/scratch is not being backed up. We are urging users to keep copies of all of their valuable data on Hydra:/scratch to stable storage outside the Hydra cluster.

This announcement should be considered very carefully since recently the H/W on Hydra has shown accelerated rates of deterioration and failure.

As Hydra is out of H/W and S/W support since December of 2009, and we are unable to carry out most of the necessary corrective H/W repairs to the system.
